Italian Car Day 2018

This was my second time attending the annual Italian Car Day hosted by the Rotary Club of Northbridge WA.

It was a fantastic sunny day at Gloucester Park, which always been a great location for the event.

Italian cars, bikes and scooters filled the venue with a rainbow of colours, featuring plenty of red.

From vintage classics to supercars, there was an impressive variety of magnificent vehicles on display.

Overall, it was a worthwhile event that I would recommend to any Italian enthusiast!

Testing out a new Pentax KX film camera body at the last Japanese Car Spotting WA event was a painful experience to say the least. Light metering issues and intermittent showers really spiced things up. Nonetheless, it was all worth it looking back at these images. I opted to use one of my favourite go-to lenses, the Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4. Pushing Kodak ColorPlus 200 +1 stop to 400 was a bit of fun and I didn't know what to expect. Overall, I am really impressed with the results and surprisingly enjoy the muted rustic look. Great to see so many nice Hondas out and about! Rainy Classic Cars & Coffee using Ilford Delta 100

Coming into wet season, I thought it would be a good time to dig out these old snaps from back in September 2021 attending Classic Cars & Coffee at UWA. It was a rainy morning trying out some Ilford Delta 100 black & white film using my Pentax K1000. The grain is so fine that you could almost mistake these for digital images. Lots of contrast and sharp detail make this stock what I would describe as a pretty rich and punchy b&w film. The Autozam AZ-1 was definitely a highlight of the morning and it really pulled a crowd. Cars & Cameras Social Club Launch & CineStill 400D First Impressions

2 months ago I hosted my own take on the "Cars & Coffee" style of event that we all know and love. I called it "Cars & Cameras Social Club" with the idea of bringing together like-minded automotive enthusiasts, creatives and content creators to network in one place. The launch event was a success and I was blown away by how many people committed to the extremely early 7am start and embraced the overcast, almost studio-like natural lighting. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to load up my first roll of CineStill 400D ever, be a little different to the crowd and finally tick off the photoshoot with Brock that I had been trying to fit in for far too long. Preparing for the session, I was focused on capturing the best images possible and knew there would be limited time and space to make the most out of the morning. I chose to use an SMC Pentax-DA 50mm f/1.8 lens so I could start taking photos as early as possible and to isolate Brock's SLOWWAGON...
